West Bengal: 3 injured as recovered live bombs detonates within police station
Those injured include an assistant sub-inspector and a civic volunteer
Kolkata: Three people were injured after two crude bombs, that was recovered last week, went off within a police station in West Bengal's North Dinajpur district on Sunday.
The bombs were recovered by the officials of the Itahar Police Station in North Dinajpur from several places across the district last week and were kept inside the police station. But around 11.30 am, on Sunday, two bombs went off inside in the police station as they were not diffused.
The injured were initially taken to the local hospital, but as their condition worsened, they were taken to Raiganj Hospital. Those injured include an assistant sub-inspector and a civic volunteer.
The police are currently investigating as to why the recovered live bombs were not diffused.
