Hyderabad: A team of 350 cops raided Anjaiahnagar in Alwal and arrested 28 suspects including rowdy sheeters and thieves.

The police seized 51 two-wheelers and some computers suspected to have been stolen. The arrested suspects are Nanak Singh, a notorious burglar and Bobbili Kiran, a rowdy sheeter.

Senior police officials said that Anjaiahnagar grew in size and activities by leaps and bounds in a very short period due to the spurt in immigrants arriving from all over the country.

“Since there is mixed demography and most of them are immigrants it is an ideal spot for criminals to take shelter,” said a senior official from Malkajgiri Zone

Police said that most migrant labourers stay without any identity proofs and the process of tenant verification was never done in the area. Officials said the raid was done after obtaining an order from the police commissioner.
