Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was named as the ‘Best CM’ by auto unions for going back on the cheap liquor policy. He will be honoured on October 16 which will be observed as Driver’s Day.
Autorickshaw unions are happy with the CM’s welfare measures including exemption of autorickshaws from Motor Vehicle Tax and extension of Rs 5 lakh accident insurance to public transport drivers (including auto drivers).
“Last year on October 16, the CM has passed an order exempting auto rickshaws of the Motor Vehicle Tax. We will be observing the day as Drivers Day each year and on the same day we will hounour the Chief Minister with the title ‘Best Chief Minister,” said Md. Amanullah Khan, from Auto Drivers Union JAC.
