COIMBATORE: During the Congress regime, the country’s economy was derailed due to its wrong decisions. But the BJP government has put it on the right track, said Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union minister of science and technology.

Talking to media persons at BJP Coimbatore district party office on Sunday, he said, “BJP government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully completed one year of its tenure. The central Government has implemented schemes like Smart City, Make in India, Swachh Bharat as part of its pan-India vision. The government is ready to spend nearly Rs 1 lakh crore to develop basic infrastructure facilities in the cities.”

“We have asked the scientists to assist in infrastructure development works. Science has to be connected to the people and it should be used for the benefit of them. The Central government provides two lakh scholarships to the science students. We are planning to provide incentives to the Indian origin scientists who are willing to return to their home country.” the minister further said.

Moreover, the Central government has allotted Rs 250 crore for a super computer project, the minister disclosed. It is capable of computing large national data within few hours. “Our scientists have also developed 13-metre length telescope with the help of America, and Japan,” he added.

“Apart from development activities, the BJP has ensured scam-free governance. The Congress does not have the right to talk about scams. We don’t need congress’ conduct Certificate,” the minister asserted.

Stating that the people have reposed faith in the BJP by the Parliament election, Mr Harsh Vardhan said that the “RSS is our father organisation. It will guide us and make us be committed to society and the nation.”

On the country’s economy, he said that the overall growth rate was increasing while Inflation had come down. “All the parameters showed that promising growth is taking place in the Indian economy,” he added.
