Mysuru marathon a big draw

Over 3,000 youth converged at Balarama Gate of Mysuru Palace Sunday morning for ‘Celebration Mysuru,' a half marathon (21 km).
Mysuru: Over 3,000 youth converged at Balarama Gate of Mysuru Palace Sunday morning  for ‘Celebration Mysuru,’ a half marathon (21 km). The event was organised by ‘Life is Calling’, in association with Mysuru city police, and the department of tourism, for promoting ‘healthy lifestyle and fitness.’ Mysuru City Corporation and Heritage commissioner C.G. Betsurmath and University of Mysuru Vice-Chancellor K.S. Rangappa, who flagged off the event along with Mr Prashanth B.S. of Mysuru Tourism Forum, joined them and ran 5 km.  
 
Twelve-year-old Prajwal, who participated in the event, said he was running for a clean and green city. Aishwarya, a third year law course student, joined them too. Gayathri, 62, of Kuvempunagar  whose husband is physically challenged, joined the marathon and said, “I am running for good health and to find my happiness.”
