Mumbai: It has been learnt that  the accused in the Sheena Bora murder case had carried out more activities to impersonate Sheena and to mislead her brother Mikhail Bora and fiance Rahul Mukerjea that she was alive.

While one letter was sent to Sheena’s landlord informing him that she was leaving India, a second letter was sent to Sheena’s employer informing them that she was quitting her job. The Khar police also collected handwriting samples of all the accused and to find out which one of them wrote the letters.

Deccan Chronicle also got in touch with a police patil from Pen who first discovered the suspected body of Sheena. Police patil Ganesh Dhene, a resident of Pen, told this correspondent that he regrets not saving the photographs he had clicked of the body using his cellphone camera.

He lost the photographs after his cellphone got damaged last year. Mr Dhene was on way to his friend’s home when one of the village children came to him and told him about the burnt body. Mr Dhene said, “I went to a spot and called the police from Pen.

I clicked photographs that day and even today I can recognise that it was the body of the same woman (Sheena) whose pictures are being flashed on the TV.”

“I had the pictures until last year when my cellphone data was lost due to some technical problem. However, if anyone saw those pictures, they’d immediately recognise it was Sheena’s body.

Five police officials came to the spot and did a panchnama. They had a photographer with them, so I did not give then pictures I had clicked,” said Mr Dhene. Apart from the body, Mr Dhene also saw the remains of the burnt suitcase.
