Hyderabad: The governing council of the Vijaya Cooperative Society has called for a general body meeting of its members of MLA and MP Colony for adopting a resolution conferring membership to the purchasers of house plots by non-members.

However, there are allegations that the society members are calling themselves to be elected and are indulging in practices which are detrimental for the society such as leasing the area earmarked for recreational purposes by fraudulent methods to a private party and  indulging in improper maintenance of accounts. The members are also concerned about the demand for Rs 1 lakh for membership, the payment of which does not reflect in the by-laws.

A section of members of the MLA, MP Colony has thus taken up the cause and have been protesting the whimsical manner in which the “so called elected body” is conducting the society affairs. The residents demand elections of the society in a democratic way and and to bring matters to the notice of all residents.
