Kurnool Collector releases Sunkesula water

500 cusecs of water will be released every day

Kurnool: District Collector Ch Vijay Mohan released 500 cusecs of water to KC Canal from Sunkesula reservoir to meet the drinking water problem on Monday.

After completion of puja, Mr Vijay Mohan released water through two gates. At present 1 tmc ft of water is available in the reservoir, said the Irrigation SE Chandrasekhar Rao.

As long as we receive the flood water from the low level areas Hagari, Vedavati of Hospet, 500 cusecs of water will be released every day.

In addition to this the KC water will be supplied to the summer storages of Gargeyapuram,  lakshmapuram and kothapalli for drinking purpose.

“We are receiving an inflow of 1500 cusecs from the Hagari and the Vedavathi,” the SE, irrigation, told the Collector.
