Hyderabad: Lack of toilets in the four general wards at Petlaburj has delayed the shifting of the medical and surgical departments of the Osmania General Hospital to the Petlaburj Maternity Hospital. This issue came up during an inspection by the Telangana OGH Doctors’ Association.
A senior Osmania General Hospital doctor said that when health minister Dr C. Laxma Reddy had visited the Petlaburj hospital, engineers of the Telangana Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation had agreed to build the toilets in a month. But that work has been delayed.
Senior doctors discussed the availability of laboratory and operation theatre facilities. As both the departments have a heavy load of elective surgeries, shifting the existing facilities from Osmania General Hospital is very important.
Association president Dr Nagendra said, “There are some works which have to be finalised before the wards are shifted. We don’t want to have any issues after shifting. That is why we are taking utmost care.”
