Rains batter city but heat is on; traffic goes awry

Hyderabad: Moderate rains continued to lash the city for the third consecutive day on Tuesday. A rainfall of 7 mm was recorded till 8.30 pm in the city on Tuesday. Traffic came to a halt near Somajiguda, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, Lakdikapul, Erramanzil, Abids and Nampally junctions.

Even as heavy rains are lashing the city, the day temperatures remained high and on Tuesday, it was 3 degrees celsius more than the normal for this time. The Meteorological Depart-ment has forecast a “mainly or generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm” for the next 72-hours in AP and Telangana.
