Movie buffs throng Rajagiri film festival

It’s a carnival at the Rajagiri Valley campus, Kakkanad, where movie-buffs from various colleges are flocking in to attend the Kinoteka-2015, the Rajagiri-European Union film festival that showcases 12 movies from various European countries.

They movies The Foreigner (Bulgaria), The Plague (Spain), Committed (Cyprus), A Place Called Home (Greece), Aglaya (Hungary), It’s Gonna Take a Miracle (Italy), Pizzas (Latvia), Schacko Klak (Luxembourg), Feed Me with Your Words (Slovenia), Living Images (Estonia), Montevideo (Serbia) and The Age of Cannibals (Germany) are being screened at the festival.

Dr Cesare Onestini, the Acting Ambassador of the European Union to India, inaugurated the festival and said such events helped the viewers get an in-depth understanding of the European culture. “European nations have faced many wars, enmity and pain throughout its history. It was not formed overnight; but reached the present stage after many sacrifices,” he said at the event.
