Drowsiness and lethargy can affect many aspects of our professional life like motivation, mood, relationships and workplace performance. However, there are certain foods that can give that much-needed power boost to your foggy brain.

According to the Daily Mail, health professionals and nutritionists have identified foods that are healthier alternatives instead of a sugary snack for that energy rush you need.

1) Blueberries: With its high levels of polyphenols, antioxidative and anti-inflammatory compounds, Blueberries are good for your nervous system and brain as it helps fight memory loss and improve your mood.

2) Pumpkin Seeds: Consuming a handful of pumpkin seeds will give you the zinc, proteins, amino acids, minerals, fibres, vitamins and complex carbohydrates.

3) Tomatoes: Eating tomatoes will enable you to avoid cell damage and enhance your attention span, memory and problem-solving skills.

4) Spinach: Thanks to high potassium levels, having spinach increases the speed of signals between neurons which helps our brains to be more responsive.

5) Green Tea: Drinking it can obstruct the development of tumour-spreading blood vessels and also repairs liver damage.

6) Eggs: Phenylalanine, a molecule used to make dopamine, is found in eggs, which can make you feel enthusiastic at work. So, don’t skip your breakfast omelette.
