Hyderabad: Accused of cell theft, CA student ends life

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old CA student jumped to his death from his hostel’s third floor at Musheerabad even as several people were watching. it in stunned silence.
L. Harish, a native of Nizamabad, was depressed after he was accused of stealing a mobile phone from his roommates. He suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to a corporate hospital where he died in less than half an hour. Following the theft of the mobile in the hostel, the management had asked Harish to leave the hostel.
He had taken admission less than two weeks ago. The incident occurred after 10.30 am in Vasavi Arya Vysya private hostel, when most of the wards were starting for their colleges. Several locals were also standing in front of the hostel which is located in a busy area.
The onlookers heard a scream and the victim hitting the concrete floor. The CCTV camera installed outside the building captured the horrific scene. According to the hostel management, three mobile phones went missing from the room Harish was sharing with two other people named Sai Anvesh and Sailesh.
They searched for the phones, and allegedly found two of them with Harish. “The search and a discussion on the issue went on from 4 am till 10 am in the hostel. Since the phones were found from Harish, the manager asked him to vacate the hostel. Harish then went to the third floor and jumped,” said Musheerabad sub-inspector B. Bhaskar Rao. Relatives said that Harish came to Hyderabad 10 days ago, and had joined Sri Medha College for CA coaching. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
