Deal clinched to set up Rs 300 crore Wonderla in Chennai in 3 years

Wonderla, one of the major players in amusement park industry, has proposed to set up a major park in the Chennai at an investment of Rs 300 crore over a period of next three years.
Chennai: Chennaiites are all set to get a new amusement park with Wonderla Holidays signing a memorandum of understanding with the state government on Thursday as part of the Global Investors Meet.
 
Wonderla, one of the major players in amusement park industry, has proposed to set up a major park in the Chennai at an investment of Rs 300 crore over a period of next three years.
 
Wonderla Holidays operates two amusement parks in Bangalore and Kochi under the brand name Wonderla.
 
Arun K. Chittilappilly, managing director, Wonderla Holidays said that Chennai is a promising market for the industry. 
 
“With the Tamil Nadu government collaborating with businessmen to develop the state, we have decided to build our largest amusement park in Chennai,” he told reporters here. The city is home to five major amusement parks.
 
 The amusement park would be developed on the outskirts of the city for which land would be identified very soon.
 
As per the MoU, the government of Tamil Nadu will facilitate speedy clearance to the project through single window clearance and will provide uninterrupted power and water supply.
 
 The city has five major amusement parks dotting the outskirts. 
 
VGP Universal Kingdom and MGM Dizee World is located on ECR road while Queens Land and EVP World are along Chennai Bangalore highway. Kishkinta is at Tambaram.
