Hyderabad: Construction will be halted at a few Metro Rail sites due to the Ganesh immersion processions in the city starting from September 17.
HMR and the L&T authorities have been directed by the TS chief secretary to remove construction material from M.J. Market, Khairatabad and Panjagutta for the upcoming festival. Work at these major junctions will resume once the 11-day festival ends.
Other than the Metro Rail construction, the TS chief secretary has ordered officials to expedite pipeline works by the Water Board on Necklace Road as well as road repair works around the city ahead of the festival. A special budget of Rs 10 crore has been allocated by the GHMC for the festival.
Meanwhile, the SCB authorities will deploy special teams to clear garbage at night as well.
