MG University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Sheena Shukkur credits IUML for it all
Ms Shukoor was also appointed as the PVC as a League nominee
Thiruvananthapuram: MG University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Sheena Shukkur has created a controversy by claiming that she and her spouse got a government bungalow and car for standing under the green flag of IUML.
Ms Shukkur made these remarks while inaugurating the family meet organised by Cheruvathoor Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) in Dubai recently.
Governor P. Sathasivam, in his capacity as Chancellor of the university, has asked MGU Vice-Chancellor Babu Sebastian to conduct an inquiry into the allegations against Ms Shukkur for attending the meeting of a political organisation outside the country without prior permission.
Incidentally, her husband was appointed as a government pleader after thepresent ministry came to power. Ms Shukoor was also appointed as the PVC as a League nominee.
The KMCC is a League-affiliated organisation. Ms Shukkur visited Dubai after skipping important meetings of the syndicate and academic council without taking prior permission of the Vice-Chancellor for her foreign trip.
The pro-CPM All-Kerala Private College Teachers’ Association has urged the Governor to take action against the PVC for violating the norms regarding foreign trips.
The AKPTCA alleged that the trip was conducted skipping the meetings for discussing the allegation of copying by IG T.J. Jose and also the closing down of off-campus centres of the university.
