Hyderabad: A transport contractor, who parked his car on the roadside to purchase guavas, found his cash bag containing Rs 2 lakh missing from the car. He had withdrawn the amount from the bank to purchase a truck.
The incident happened when he was on way to his home on Thursday. Bokka Bikshapathi, a transport contractor from Girmapur village in Medchal mandal of Ranga Reddy district, owns trucks and tippers deployed at various quarries.
On Thursday afternoon, he withdrew Rs 2 lakh from District Co-operative Central bank in Medchal to pay the down payment for purchasing a new tipper. He was returning to his home in his car. When he reached Ayodhya Crossroads, on the outskirts of Medchal, he stopped his car and got down.
“He did not lock the door. When he returned, the bag was missing,” said Medchal inspector K. Shashank Reddy.
