Hyderabad: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) itself has said the Aadhaar card shouldn’t be used as a tool to verify authenticity in educational institutions.
The state government had asked the UIDAI if it can be made mandatory for teachers in educational institutions to submit Aadhaar details to confirm their veracity and check duplication of teachers in institutions.
Citing the recent Supreme Court ruling, UIDAI has advised the government against it.
The state is concerned about the duplication of teachers in educational institutions.
JNTU Hyderabad had even made Aadhaar details mandatory for faculty members in private engineering colleges to prevent duplication.
The same technique was to be adopted by the school education department in colleges.
