Welcome Back has stunned everyone: John Abraham
John made a comeback to the screen after two years with the film
John Abraham seems pretty calm despite the fact that Welcome Back might be his biggest success since Dhoom. “We all wanted it to be a success. We prayed for it. More than me, it was important for my producer Firoz Nadiadwala. I wanted it to work for him as he has shown immense faith in me, signed me for Welcome Back and Hera Pheri 3 at a time when not too many big producers showed that kind of faith in me. Firoz held my hand at a time when I needed to prove myself in a genre that people thought I just couldn’t do. But Firoz held my hand and I held his hand. That’s how we saw this project through,” says John.
The actor continued: “I believe the audience, producers are all stunned by Welcome Back. I neither get over-disheartened by failure nor over-excited by success. So, there is no reason for me to jump out of my zone and start giving interviews about throwing a success party. I’ve always believed in myself. It’s not over-confidence, just a proper estimate of my abilities. I respect those who believe in me. As for those who don’t believe in me, I don’t care.”
John made a comeback to the screen after two years with the film. His last release was Shoojit Sircar’s Madras Café. And the actor says he had no fear of being forgotten by the audience. “I’ve always been confident about my life and career. I knew exactly what I was doing. The two-year gap was not planned. Welcome Back should have released in 2014.”
