Abductors seek Rs 1 crore for seven-year-old
Police has started manhunt based on clues they picked up from eyewitnesses

Hyderabad: A gang of unidentified persons kidnapped the seven-year-old son of a marbles trader at LB Nagar late on Saturday and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore for his release. Police said Class II student Yeshesh Vijay Patra, son of Ashish Kumar, was picked up by a man in a car from near his house in Highway Colony in LB Nagar at about 7 pm.
The gang called up Mr Kumar twice from different phone numbers and told him that Yeshesh was with them and demanded Rs 1 crore as ransom. The kidnappers also threatened him not to approach the police.
“While the boy was walking outside his house, a white Fiat car came there. A person got out, picked up the boy and drove off,” said LB Nagar Inspector E. Srinivas Reddy. After the kidnappers made the demand, victim’s parents approached the police. Police tried to call the two phone numbers of the kidnappers but they remained switched off. The police has started manhunt based on clues they picked up from eyewitnesses.
