Kalasa Banduri project gets Sandalwood support
Actors descended on the city to express their solidarity with farmers
Hubballi: Hundreds of sandalwood actors descended on the city to express their solidarity with farmers for early implementation of Kalasa Banduri project, on Saturday.
Actors, producers, directors, technicians would participate in a protest march before addressing a rally here on Sunday under the aegis of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) and various pro-Kannada organisations. KFCC president Thomas D’souza said the Kannada film industry had always stood up for the people of the state during times of crisis and it will support on the issue of Kalasa-Banduri Nala project also.
He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and make efforts to solve the long-pending issue.
“The central government has not taken the issue of Kalasa Banduri project seriously though the movement has entered 56th day, said Dr Rajkumar Fans’ Association president S R Govind.
