No promotions yet for Telangana staff
Over 30,000 staff retired in these three years without getting promotions and benefits related
Hyderabad: There are no promotions for Telangana employees even after the formation of the new state in June last year. The ban imposed on promotions by the N. Kiran Kumar Reddy government in undivided AP in 2013 continues even in Telangana leading to severe resentment among employees.
Over 30,000 staff retired in these three years without getting promotions and the benefits related to it. The Telangana government is dragging the issue on the ground that the Kamalnathan Committee is yet to bifurcate the staff between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and there is no clarity on vacancies that may come up after distribution of staff between both the states.
Telangana employees unions are demanding promotions for staff at least in 45 departments first where staff allocation has been completed. The unions contest the argument of TS government citing “bifurcation blues” for delay in giving promotions.
They question, if that was the case, how could the AP government give promotions to its employees in the Secretariat and other departments.
