Rain continues to elude Rayalaseema

Hyderabad recorded 35.7 cm of rain from June 1, which is 15.9 cm less than normal

Hyderabad: Many places in Telangana experienced rain on Saturday. The maximum rainfall of 8 cm was recorded in Heemadevra-palle in Karimnagar followed by 6 cm at two places in Nalgonda and Khammam.

The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for all the districts of Telangana for Sunday and Wednesday.

The total rainfall for the season, which started from June 1, in Telangana continues to be 24 per cent deficient.

Hyderabad recorded 35.7 cm of rain from June 1, which is 15.9 cm less than normal.

Most of Rayalaseema continued to remain dry, with Kurnool and Anantapur districts getting rain on Saturday.

Coastal AP, however, recorded rain at many places. The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the next five days for coastal AP and for two days for Rayalaseema.

In AP, the total rainfall is 13 per cent above normal. Despite the rains, the maximum temperature continues to be above 33ºC at many places in both the states.
