Nizamabad/ Hyderabad: A Haj pilgrim from Bodhan in Nizamabad district was among the 107 people killed after a construction crane crashed onto the Grand Mosque in Mecca in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Three persons from Hyderabad were listed among the injured. The victim from Rakasipet, Bodhan, identified as Sheik Hyder Ali Quadri, 65, was said to have died of a cardiac arrest after witnessing the crane falling into the mosque.

Quadri and his wife Habeeba had left for the pilgrimage on Tuesday last. Ms Habeeba is safe in Mecca and is expected to return on September 16. A family member will travel to Saudi Arabia to escort her home.
