Nelamangala: Businessman killed, three injured in road accident

BENGALURU: A 35-year-old businessman was killed on the spot, while three others were critically injured when the car they were travelling in lost control before overturning on the outskirts of Nelamangala on Sunday afternoon.
The accident took place in Nelamangala Rural police station limits around 1.40 pm on Tumakuru-Bengaluru National Highway 4.
The deceased has been identified as Ratanlal Jain, a cloth merchant in Chickpet and owner of Jain Travel Agency. The injured have been identified as Lalith Kumar, Kiran and Vasanth. All the four friends were returning from Tumakuru and residents of Chickpet.
Mr Jain, who was sitting next to the driver, Lalith, died on the spot as Lalith was said to be driving rashly. He lost control of the wheels and the car skidded off the road before overturning.
Passersby rushed the injured to a nearby hospital where doctors declared Ratanlal Jain dead. The other injured are being treated at the hospital.
The Nelamangala Rural police have taken up a case and are investigating.
