Jayaraman, more often addressed as ‘Rajini’ Jayaraman, a former assistant who has worked with Rajinikanth for 24 years, has turned producer with a Tamil film titled Kirumi. While Kadhir of Madhayanai Koottam plays the male lead, Reshmi Menon will be seen as his love interest. Directed by award-winning short filmmaker Anu Charan, the story of the psychological thriller has been written by Kaaka Muttai director Manikandan.
Talking about his debut venture, Jayaraman says, “I am producing the film along with my friends Prithiviraj and Rajendran. I heard the subject and liked it since it was contemporary and has a message for society. For me everything is Rajini sir. After I decided to turn a producer, the first thing I did was to go and meet him. He was happy for me. But he advised me to choose good scripts and be careful while spending money for production.”
Recalling a nostalgic moment with the Baashha star, Jayaraman said, “A few years ago, Rajini sir was sick and was admitted to a hospital in Singapore. I was also hospitalised in the city around the same time. No sooner had he come back to Chennai, he called me up. When I met him, I could not control my tears. He also became emotional and hugged me. Rajini sir’s blessings are always with me.”
