THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and Cooperation Minister C. N. Balakrishnan, who met Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi, have expressed their resentment against KPCC chief  V. M. Sudheeran over his stand on various issues.

Mr Sudheeran was  targeting the  ‘I’ group, especially in the A. C. Haneefa murder case at  Chavakkad and the Consumerfed graft, they told her, it is learnt.

Mr Sudheeran had taken  a unilateral stand on  Consumerfed corruption and DCC revamping. They were upset by his demand to oust  Consumerded president Joy Thomas through a letter to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

The issue was not taken up with either Mr. Chennithala or Mr. Chandy.  Mr Sudheeran was not discussing many matters,  especially the raging Consumerfed controversy,  in the party, they said.

The two  also handed over  a letter to Mrs Sonia Gandhi alleging that Mr Sudheeran had been raking up  issues which even the Opposition had not raised.

Another grievance  was that  he had not tried to defend  Mr. Balakrishnan who was alleged to have a role in the Haneefa murder case.  Mr Sudheeran had also been trying to create his own group, they said.

However, Mr Chennithala said that they had not  discussed  anything on the organizational revamping. “The trip to Delhi was to meet Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to discuss the problems in the cooperation sector due to the flawed policies of the BJP government,”  said Mr Chennithala who remained tightlipped on other controversial issues.
