Two Maoists killed in encounter at Tadvai in Telangana

Warangal: Two Maoists including a woman were killed in an encounter near Vengalapur between Govindaraopet and Tadvai in the early hours of Tuesday. Confirming the encounter, Warangal Rural SP Amber Kishor Jha said that two Maoists were shot dead. 

"There was an exchange of fire with KKW (Karimnagar-Khammam-Warangal) committee near Somlagadda in Tadavai mandal under Pasara police station limits wherein two cadres including a woman were killed," a senior police officer said.

Police seized one-carbine and one .303 weapon besides six kit-bags from the spot, he said.

The combing and search operation is still on. There was no casualty on the police side, the officer added.

Warangal rural SP Amber Kishor Jha and DIG Malla Reddy are on their way to inspect the area.
