Male girl comes full circle
The actress who just celebrated her birthday is looking forward to four releases this year
This pretty child artiste who garnered much acclaim as Aisu in Cheluvina Chittara is now among the top heroines of Sandalwood. Actress Amulya has four releases she is looking forward to this year and is as childlike with excitement as she was when she began this cinematic journey. She turned 22-year-old on Monday and spoke to Bengaluru Chronicle on her special birthday and her much talked about recent make over and more.
“I am overwhelmed by my fans and well-wishers who have been sending loads of wishes and gifts on my birthday. I haven’t been off my cell phone, replying to most messages and calls despite shooting for Krishna Rukku. This is my best birthday ever as at least four of my films are set to release this year. I am happy to be getting offers with such diverse roles. Thankfully, this does not limit my ability to the kind of roles I did in Cheluvina Chittara, Shravani Subramanya and the last release Maley,” says Amulya who will feature in Ram Leela opposite Chiranjeevi Sarja, Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole, and Krishna Rukku.
The actress plans to continue her studies but she might not do be able to do so for the next couple of years due to a packed schedule, but promises to get back to basics when she can.
In Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole, the pretty girl rode a bullet. Thrilled about her little feat — learning to ride a bullet, it was also reported that she sustained a minor injury during the filming, but that did nothing to deter her vroom worthiness! “I have never planned anything in life, and have been sailing along which ever way the wind blew. Apart from all the wishes, I was flooded with surprise gifts this year, which I am yet to open as I have been too busy shooting. I have also asked my fans not to send me any gifts — I urge them to give those gifts to their mothers and sisters instead. Their love, and support is all I seek,” she says.
A Bharatanatyam dancer who has even passed the junior exam in dance, she sometimes feels the pinch knowing that her peers have real fun and go out frequently while she is busy shooting. “I do feel a tinge of sadness at times when I cannot have fun like my friends or when I think about how busy my life is. However, when I realise that not many are lucky to be in my place, I am more determined to achieve something,” she reveals.
Ever since Gajakesari, Amulya has changed her look and become more confident. “Earlier, I was never so particular about make-up and costumes, and would leave it to the designers. Now, I have decided to take care of it by myself so I have started giving ideas to the designers too. I am happy about the positive response,” she adds, before heading for a shoot.
