Modelling is her mantra

Ashwika Omkumar is a model and second-year MBA student of Rajagiri College, Kakkanad, Kochi. She has to her credit titles such as Miss Kochi 2014, Miss Beautiful Smile 2014 and has been a finalist in many beauty pageants held across South India.

 

I was part of ad shoots since when I was in Class 9. But I concentrated on my studies till I cleared my Class 12 and did a few shoots in between. It was during my first year in college that I met Dalu who introduced me to the ramp shows and prompted me to get into pageants as well. Now I have been the face of over 100 advertisements. I can’t wait to finish my course so that I can invest my entire time for my modelling career. The best thing about modelling is the pampering one gets. Personally, it is less like a job and more like something I do to unwind and live leisurely. 

 

I love Deepika Padukone and she is a role model to me. I keenly follow her style and try to adapt it to suit me. My father to admires Deepika a lot. He keeps telling me that Deepika is someone who played Badminton, went into modelling and then made a successful acting career and I should try to put in my efforts towards trying achieve success in this way in my own life with hard work.

 

I have never had any formal training in dance, but I love freestyle dancing. It’s one of the things I do regularly to keep myself fit, apart from cycling. 

 

I prefer to travel alone whenever possible and I go for long drives on my own. Mostly it’s by car, but I love riding too. Occasionally I borrow my brother’s bike to go on a ride. My parents get worried a lot and would keep calling me to be updated of my whereabouts. It makes me to be alert and careful.
