Hyderabad: A day after the suspected ‘kidnap’ of class IX student Avinash Sharma, there’s a twist in the tale. Police said on Tuesday that the boy was traced at Vijayawada railway station on Monday night.
That was hours after his father lodged a ‘missing’ complaint with the police. On Monday night, a police source had said the “boy and his kidnappers” were taken into custody at Kukatpally.
According to sources, the boy, a student of MNR High School in HMT Swarnapuri colony in Miyapur here, travelled to Vijayawada by train on his own.
Midway through his journey, he called his father from another passenger’s mobile phone. Pretending himself to be a stranger, he informed his father that he was kidnapped.
However, at night, RPF personnel on night patrol at Vijayawada station found him moving about in a suspicious manner. On questioning, they found he ran away from home.
His parents reached Vijayawada on Tuesday. Cops suspect he ran away due to some issues at home or school.
