A woman farmer from KCR’s constituency attempted suicide

HyderabadFour more farmers died on Tuesday, while a woman farmer from Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s constituency, Gajwel in Medak district, attempted suicide. 
 
Farmer couple Shyamala and Kanakiri of Ramannagudem of Gajwel were faced with Rs 4 lakh in debts. With this year’s crop too failing, Shyamala attempted suicide by consuming pesticide when her husband was away. She was rushed to the Gandhi Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
 
In Nizamabad, M. Ramaswamy, 50, of Konaraopet mandal in Karimnagar district,  died of a massive heart attack after his crop failed. He has two unemployed sons, who recently returned from the Gulf after failing to find employment there.
 
In Adilabad district, 32-year-old farmer L. Ramakrishna fell under a train to end his life. The crop on his farmland had failed this year. 
In Devuniguda, Jannaram mandal, Sambari Bhumaiah, 55, who attempted suicide four days ago by consuming pesticide. He was shifted to a private hospital in Karimnagar and he died while undergoing treatment. Bhumaiah was facing mounting debts with private money lenders along with crop failure.
 
Kursinga Somu, 50, of Lotherre, also in Jannaram mandal, died of cardiac arrest after the cotton crop failed on his four acres land and the seven acres he had taken on lease.
