HyderabadIt rained, then stopped, and then rained again. And somewhere in between, Hyderabad XI managed to score 75 runs and lose two wickets on Day Two of the Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup final against India Cements at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Early showers delayed the start of the day’s proceedings by several hours. And when the action finally did start, at 2 pm, it was short-lived as players were taken off just 27 minutes later due to more rain. Hyderabad resumed their reply to India Cements’ 299 at 2.54 pm and managed to squeeze in an hour and 40 minutes before rains lashed the ground again, effectively ending play for the day.

Opener T. Suman was an early casualty, departing with just 13 on the board. Captain G.H. Vihari (18) was the next to go when he was dismissed after his side crossed the 50-run mark. P. Akshath Reddy (35) and left-hander B. Sandeep (5) are still at the crease for the hosts.
