Alia Bhatt: More than winning National Award, winning Nation's heart is important

For the actress, emotional acclaim matters more than critical acclaim

Mumbai: Alia Bhatt, who stepped in Bollywood with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’, has surely come a long way and progressed immensely as an actor. After winning hearts with her mind-blowng perfromance in ‘Highway’, the actress is all set to charm the audiences with her upcoming film ‘Shaandaar’.

Directed by Vikas Bahl, ‘Shaandaar’ also stars Shahid Kapoor. If you remember well, both, Shahid and Vikas stunned everyone with their respective films, Haider and Queen, for which they even won National Awards.

Now that ‘Shaandaar’ gave an opportunity to Alia to work with two National Award winners, a lot of people wondered whether the actress has her eyes on National Awards this year with her upcoming film.

At the ‘Shaam Shaandaar’ song launch, Alia was asked whether she is aiming for a National Award with this film, as director Vikas’s last film ‘Queen’ got Kangana one, the actress replied, "More than winning National Award, winning National hearts is important. For me emotional acclaim matters more than critical acclaim."
