Ganpati Bappa Mourya is making his way into our homes and the auspicious atmosphere of Ganesh Chaturthi has already set in. Here's what television stars have to say about their favourite festival.

Ashish Chowdhry

There was a time when I used to visit many temples frequently. Then came a phase when I realize that all Gods are same. One custom we still follow is that we visit Ganpati because my wife is from Dadar and there are many famous temples in that area. So we go for a drive to Dadar, Lalbaug, Sion, Matunga.  I get fascinated by how each Ganpati looks different. Some look like South Indian Ganpati, some look like Maharashtriyan Ganpati, some like Konkan brahmin. It's very Interesting just to look at them.

I feel very secure when Bappa is around. He takes care of me, he gives happiness as he is rightly named Vighnaharta. We believe him to be the eldest member of our family.  I want a to create a strong aura around myself just like him.  Since childhood we are taking Ganpati at home and it always feels like the elder family member is coming to house. My mom, sister-in-law and I make delicious modak for him.

Ganesh Chaturti is one of my favourite festivals as I see Ganesha as a angel god. Four years back I made a little Ganesh out of wheat dough with big ears and a trunk. I used two mustard seeds for it's eyes and rice grain for it's tusk. It was the cutest Ganesh idol ever. I kept it outside my house on the window plane with decorations and flowers. Everybody found it very adorable

My uncle brings Ganpati at home for 1 and half days. It becomes an awesome get together for the whole family to meet because we hardly do get time from our busy schedules and we eagerly wait for the visarjan too because while taking Ganpati away is also lot of fun. We sing lot of songs loudly in the car..I also remember we used to make ryhmes too like ek do teen chaar ganpati cha jay jay kar..5 678 ganpati hai hamare saath..The whole process was a lot of positivity for these 2 days we pray together, we pass on warmth to each other. There's so much of love between all of them and there is peace in the environment
