New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Friday interact with rickshaw pullers in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi and distribute 101 e-rickshaws and 510 cycle rickshaws at an event there. Modi will be interacting with the rickshaw pullers at the multi-purpose Cantonment grounds.

The American India Foundation (AIF), which is one of the organisers of the prime minister's interaction with rickshaw pullers, said that its 'Rickshaw Sangh Programme' enables rickshaw pullers to own their rickshaws by accessing formal credit.

The organisation said in a statement here that it aims to create life-changing assets and formalise the profession through access to key social benefits like an identity card, diver's license, uniform and bank account.
