Hyderabad: Panasonic India has announced its plans to set up two manufacturing units in the country in the next one and half year. Speaking on the sidelines of the second edition of the India Gadget Expo in Hyderabad on Friday, Panasonic MD (India and South Asia) Manish Sharma said, “We see a lot of scope for export of electronic appliances from India to South Africa, Middle-East and Egypt. To boost this emerging trend, we are planning to set up a fridge manufacturing unit in India in the next one-and-half year with an approximate investment of Rs 200 crore-Rs 300 crore with a production capacity of six lakh to one million units per month. Also, a fridge manufacturing unit will soon come up.”
