Hyderabad: Three persons involved in the conspiracy and murder of a woman at MCH colony in Amberpet on Wednesday were arrested on Friday. Police also seized from them gold ornaments they took away from the deceased woman’s house.
Police said 60-year-old Suguna was residing at MCH Colony along with her daughter Radhika, who worked at a private company. Suguna used to hire an auto-rickshaw when she went out for purchases etc. On Wednesday, she told her daughter she would go to bank to withdraw her monthly pension. In the evening, when Radhika returned home, she found her mother lying dead on the cot. There were injuries on her neck and her ornaments and mobile phones were missing.
Police said Suguna hired the same autorickshaw to go to the bank. Driver Sheikh Shareef called his friends, Pathi Madhu and G. Sriramulu, and hatched a plan to loot her. Shareef dropped her home and went his way. Madhu and Sriramulu went to the house and introduced themselves as sewer-cleaners. When she let them in, they locked the door from inside. The two suffocated her to death and committed robbery. One of them also sexually assaulted her, East Zone DCP Ravinder said.
