She-team inspector suspended

Hyderabad: A sub inspector working with SHE teams in Cyberabad was suspended over allegations that he protected his brother-in- law in a case and threatened another youth with false cases. Based on an inquiry report submitted by the Mahapur DCP, the suspension order was issued on Friday.
Shekar was working with the SHE teams for the past six months. On August 4, his birthday, his brother-in-law Prashanth and his friend Charan came to wish him at his home. Later, Prashanth and Shekar went to a dhaba at Medchal in Charan’s car. Prashanth consumed alcohol and then drove the car while Charan waited at the dhaba. Prashanth rammed the vehicle into a truck and was hurt. Shekar later threatened Charan with implicating him in a false case and collected Rs 1 lakh to be paid towards Prashanth’s treatment. However, the treatment costed only Rs 1,800.
