Court asks Samsung not to copy iPhone
Samsung and Apple are in a patent dispute since a few years
Apple has finally won a partial battle with an old patent case against Samsung for blatantly copying a few of the iPhone’s features on its Galaxy line.
A federal court in Washington has ruled in favor of Apple and announced that Samsung has to update its Samsung Galaxy smartphones’ software so that the copied features, such as ‘slide to unlock’, ‘autocorrect’ and ‘quick link’ are removed. Samsung has to do it with an OS update OTA and without calling back the handsets. CNN reported that the ruling has come through long after Samsung has upgraded its features on the later phones. You can now swipe your finger anywhere on the screen to unlock, and the keyboard too has been updated several times.
Samsung has stated that they shall continue to sell and support their smartphones.
