Hyderabad: The Institute of International Law (IIL), working on study and development of international law, will hold its next session in 2017 at NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad. This is the second time in its 145-year history that ILL has chosen a venue in Asia for the meet.
The institute is an apex international law body composed of members in their individual capacity elected for their individual and extr-aordinary contributions to the development of international law.
Several judges of the International Court of Justice, arbitrators of international disputes, scholars from Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Yale and JNU and eminent writers of international law are members of the institute.
NALSAR officials say that choosing India for the session is an appreciation of the role India has been playing for the promotion of peaceful settlement of disputes, elimination of nuclear weapons and strengthening the role of UN.
