Kanche's release date pushed to November
‘The distributors and exhibitors are all confused. So, we took a decision’
Tollywood’s much-awaited Kanche has become one of the first movies to pull out of the rush — the Varun Tej and Pragya Jaiswal starrer, directed by Jagarlamudi Radhakrishna (Krish) is now postponed to November 6.
“The makers don’t want to release their film amidst some big films. That’s why the push,” a source said. Kanche — set during World War 2 — was supposed to release on October 2.
When contacted director Krish said: “The distributors and exhibitors are all confused. So, we took a decision which could give us a breather. It’s sad that we are postponing the film but are very sure that we are doing the right thing for us, and for all the other films that are releasing in October.”
Ready for battle
Meanwhile Singh Is Bling’s director Prabhudeva is gung-ho about the unexpected competition. “Vijay, the lead in Puli, is a dear friend of mine. So good, na? Both friends are coming together on the same weekend.” It may be recalled that Vijay had also done a short cameo in Prabhudeva’s earlier outing with Akshay Kumar, Rowdy Rathod.
