Hyderabad: Nine persons were arrested on Monday for forcibly diverting a truck for Ganesh immersion. The incident happened in Jadcherla. Nine persons from the old city approached truck owners to hire a truck for Ganesh immersion but could not get one for their budget. The group then hatched a plan to hijack a truck.
On Monday at around 4.30 am they tried to stop trucks. One driver stopped thinking that they wanted a lift. “They forced him to give the truck for Ganesh immersion,” said RGIA inspector P. Sudhakar.
Police rescued the driver Ram Keval Yadav and registered a case of criminal intimidation against the nine. The accused were produced before the court.
