Adilabad: Modi effigy burnt for stopping funds
The rally and protest was organised under the banner of Telangana State ZPTCs Forum
ADILABAD: The ZPTCs and MPPs irrespective of party affiliation, on Monday burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Adilabad town for stopping BRGF, 14th Finance commission and Integrated Action Plan (IAP) funds to Zilla Parishad and Mandal parishad and weakening local bodies and stopping development.
ZPTCs and MPPs took out a protest rally to Telangana Thalli Chowk from Zilla Parishad hall and staged a rasta roko and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister. The rally and protest was organised under the banner of Telangana State ZPTCs Forum.
Addressing on the occasion, state convener of the Forum, Koyyala Hemaji alleged that the Central government led by BJP was deliberately attempting to weaken the local bodies by stopping Central government funds to the local bodies and no development was taking place at district and mandal level after the Centre’s move to stop central funds under above schemes.
Congress, Telugu Desam and TRS ZPTCs participated in the protest and MPPs extended their solidarity to the ZPTCs.
