Helmet mandatory in Indur from October 2
Collector Yogitha Rana said that government employees should wear the helmet and inspire others
NIZAMABAD: Wearing of helmet is mandatory for motor bike riders and pillion riders from October 2 onwards in Nizamabad district. The district road safety council meeting was held here on Monday chaired by collector Yogitha Rana.
To prevent road accidents, the authorities have decided to implement helmet rule in the district strictly. The officials observed that deaths occurred during road accidents, because lack of helmet utilisation.
Speaking at the meeting, collector Yogitha Rana said that government employees should wear the helmet and inspire others.
She said that officials should conduct inspections to avoid selling of non-ISI mark helmets, which are not protecting the lives of riders in the accidents. She also said that Roads and Buildings department officials should widen the culverts on highways and set up radium marks. Municipal, revenue and police officials should collectively work on road safety, she said.
To create an awareness on road safety, particularly on helmets, a massive rally will be conducted on October 2, she said. Awareness programmes should be conducted for schoolchildren and college, university students, she said. SP S.
