GUNTUR: Professional rat killing company Pest Busters killed about 4,500 rats in the 18 acre land of the Government General Hospital, Guntur in the last three weeks.

Mr Makineni Rambabu, master trainer of the company, said that they started killing rats on the hospital ground on the directions of district collector.

Mr Rambabu revealed that they have caught more than 500 rats on the open ground and killed more than 4,000 rats in the burrows itself. He explained that they have put around 1,200 rat traps at the wards to catch the remaining rats.

Mr Rambabu said that they had followed “burrow fumigation” meth-od to kill the rats in more than four thousand live borrows in the hospital and added that they also found about hundreds of dead borrows.

However, Mr Rambabu said that they could not kill the rats in the wards in a massive way as they did in the open grounds and burrows. He explained that the use of chemicals in the wards may prove dangerous. Mr Ra-mbabu said that it wo-uld take at least three more weeks to kill the rats in the 19 wards.
