A leading production company might face a ban from Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) from producing films for a never-before-heard reason. It’s heard that AGS Entertainment which produced the recent blockbuster Thani Oruvan starring Jayam Ravi, Arvind Swamy and Nayanthara, has faced the heat from the council for doing ‘over promotion’ for the film.

Apparently, it seems like there are restrictions laid down by the Producers Council when it comes to advertisements and promotion of a movie. Archana Kalpathi, daughter of Kalpathi S Aghoram of AGS Entertainment, was shocked to hear that there are plans by the Council to take action against their company.

She took to Twitter to express the same, posting, “Hearing reports that #Ags has been banned from producing movies for overspending on promotions for #ThaniOruvan Shocked.” However, when contacted, Rangarajan, a spokesperson of AGS, said that they are yet to receive any official statement from the Council.

He says, “I don’t know whether an action will be taken against the company. We haven’t received any notification on this. In fact, there wasn’t any official instruction from the Council with regard to restrictions on promoting films.”
