Tirupur: Father stabs son to death in drunken haze

Tirupur: A fish trader, who was in a drunken state, stabbed his  26-year-old son to death at Settampalayam in Tirupur district. According to the police, M.Ramasamy, a  fish merchant was living with his  wife Saraswathi (44) and son Kumaresan on  Pillaiyar Koil street in Settampalayam in Tirupur district. On Monday night, Ramasamy who came home in a drunken state, slapped his wife Saraswathy for not cooking tasty dinner. His son Kumaresan quarrelled with his father for having hit his mother. He asked his father to get out of the house. Ramasamy went out and returned home at midnight and stabbed his son Kumaresan to death. Neighbours who woke up to the cries of Kumaresan rushed him to the Tirupur government hospital. He succumbed to stab injuries on Tuesday. Tirupur police have arrested Ramasamy.
