NIT’s Festember to begin tomorrow
There is a plan to provide a platform for upcoming artists of the region
Tiruchy: The four day Festember, the annual cultural festival of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT-T) and one of the top cultural festivals of south India will commence from Sept. 24.
Announcing this at a press conference, NIT-T Director Srinivasan Sundararajan said here on Monday that this year’s event will feature many shows of renowned artists and music troupes. A plethora of events ranging from arts, music, and dance to English, Hindi, and Tamil literary events await the participants and spectators. Besides, a number of workshops and guest lectures have been lined up. He said that 900 students, divided into several groups, had been working for making the event a memorable event.
The event will begin with a classical dance performance by Rukmini Vijaykumar, who is expected to deliver a guest lecture. An electronic dance music festival will be staged. Theatrics will see the participants make the best use of their acting skills to captivate the audience, he added.
There is a plan to provide a platform for upcoming artists of the region to showcase their talents. Prashanth Bhushan, activist, will deliver a lecture on Sunday.
