Unless you have been off the grid past few years, you know all about the hype 2009 game ‘Angry Birds’ created. It was “The” trending topic back in 2009 and guess what? After so many years, when the whole craze has frozen down, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Rovio Entertainment are here with ‘The Angry Birds Movie'.

Yes, you read that right. There’s a movie all set to hit the theatres in 2016 and to revive the dead craze of ‘Angry Birds’, the makers have released film’s first trailer. The trailer starts with The Carpenters’ ‘Close to you’ grooving in the air as we are introduced to the film’s main character, Red (Yes, that's what the RED bird is called), who is calmly eating a sandwich and no, the film is not about him eating a sandwich.

But the air shifts as Red’s hopes get crushed and soon we hear Michael Jackson crooning ‘Bad’ in the background, and with that, the vibe of ‘The Angry Birds’ changes. So now Red is “angry” or so it seems. He joins an anger management group where we are introduced to the other characters; Chuck, Bomb, Matilda and the Mighty Eagle. Oh, and there’s also a green pig in the film but just so you no, there are no pig slaughters, unlike the original game.

After looking at the trailer, we have to say that the makers didn’t really give much away. Directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergai Reily, the film is packed with some very talented star cast which includes Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage and more.  The film hits the theatres in May, 2016.
